Samantha Sims was an air traffic controller at an air route traffic control center from 1990 to 2014. Having endured over twenty years in a hostile environment, she emerged with her peace of mind and a well-earned retirement. With the nondisclosure clause missing from her settlement with the FAA, Samantha was encouraged to write her story.
Knowing there are controllers still suffering from a similar environment, Samantha wants to shed a light on the toxic environment to help empower the ones that still need help. Bullies have their power in their secrets, and she is not staying quiet. Having to nuke what was left of her career by going on CNN, Samantha understands the loneliness that comes with breaking out to be heard and helped.
She has stayed busy with her new acquaintances with the Toastmasters Club, along with earning her Race Official certification with the SCCA (Sports Car Club of America) as a steward. Samantha gets in the racecar when she can afford to but mostly enjoys volunteering at Hooked on Driving, HPDE, PBOC, the NCM HPDE as a driving coach, and at the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, feeling that she needs that camp as much as the children Paul Newman made that camp for.
